Context
At TU Delft, students and researchers work daily on advanced prototypes and metal constructions. In an academic workshop, high-grade equipment has to be combined with maximum safety for users who sometimes still have little practical experience.
Challenge
Standard industrial laser cutters are built for experienced operators and often lack the additional safeguards needed in an educational setting. TU Delft needed robust laser cutting machines that deliver industrial cutting quality but are guaranteed ‘student-proof’. And on technical questions, a partner that genuinely thinks along.
Solution
In close collaboration with TU Delft, Lion Lasers developed the predecessor of our Lion Alpha Metal. That latter machine is now part of TU’s machine park as well. Our laser cutting machines combine a fully enclosed, certified laser class 1 housing with an extremely accessible interface. Safe, robust and ready for intensive daily use.
